Annual garage sale!

Hello neighbors of SFCA,
Spring is here and so is our Annual SFCA GARAGE SALE! Start getting prepared in your garage as we have set the date for Saturday, April 26 from 8 am-2 pm. The ads have been placed in the Dispatch and the local papers , Dublin Villager and the Worthington SNP. A good garage sale is fun but a great and profitable one is being prepared and pricing your merchandise to sell. Many neighbors have had a lot of success by doing just that! So , in the next couple of weeks, clear out your basements, kids rooms, un-used baby items, clean them up for resale and have fun! Its a fun day for the neighborhood to see the action and finding just the right thing you’ve always wanted, right here in Sawmill Forest. Some neighbors have “buddied up” as they may not have a lot to sell but want to unload a few items so check with your neighbors and start organizing for a fun day in the neighborhood.
On another note, don’t forget to RSVP to unionblue1@ msn.com for your family to attend the Easter Egg Hunt on Sat. April 12 at 9:30. Coffee, donuts and juice are provided and please remember to bring 12 candy filled eggs for the children to hunt. Happy Spring!

Garbage Collection Calendar

Hello!
Due to the demand of a good trash schedule calendar last year the board came up with the idea of creating magnets with the trash collection schedule on them. These were such a hit that the lack of them has caused demand for them again this year. I’m working on getting those off to print within a week. Not only that, I have built a page that displays the calendar for trash days via Google Calendar on the website. You can find this page by clicking Garbage Collection on the side bar or clicking here.

The wonderful thing about this calendar is if you have a smart phone synced up with a gmail account, you should be able to click the button on that page that looks like “+Google Calender” to add this to your own calendars. This should notify you via your phone’s notification settings when its a trash day or other forms of garbage collection!

Hope these features are very helpful!

January Newsletter

Hello Neighbors!  Happy New Year!   The board is very excited about the up coming events planned for this year.   Anna Lee is planning a soup swap, bunco might becoming to your neighborhood soon, if there is enough ladies wanting a ladies night out once a month, and willing to host.  The annual Easter Egg Hunt will be planned for the spring.  Congratulations to our home owners whom won the Christmas Decor home contest!  Beautifully decorated, we hope you enjoy your gift card!   Also, the board purchased new street post wreaths for our neighborhood, keeping well under budget.  Thanks to Dana Smith and Anastasia Pothoven for a great job decorating and removing in a timely manner.  We hired a snow plow driver for the season and lucky for all of us, the city has stepped up and cleared our streets before we needed to pay for his service.  We will use him in the event of heavy snowfall.  Thank you Stephen Kron for taking care of this much needed service.  We are planning to purchase more SFCA magnets for trash and recycle schedules. I received several calls and emails from our neighbors requesting a new magnet, so thanks to James Covey, he has agreed to volunteer to steer this project again.  the board is looking for a neighbor to chair the Welcome committee or sunshine committee also.  It is a needed committee , welcoming a new neighbor, new baby,  or organized for a family with illness.  Please contact Dana Smith if interested.  Hope everyone is enjoying this New Year!

October News

Hello Neighbors!

Fall is hear, and the neighborhood is looking beautiful.  Last night we held our SFCA meeting and here is some helpful info.. A vey big thank you to our social committee for a great job on the successful block party!  The kids loved the jump houses and the food was well shared.  I have heard so many favorable comments regarding the party.

Secondly, the Walmart is opening in April 2014, so we will keep you all informed and up to date regarding the traffic light request.   The City of Columbus is looking into a traffic study after the opening of the Walmart.  My committee is working very hard to make sure we can enter and exit safely after the opening.  I will keep everybody informed once we hear back from the city .

on other news, Halloween is Thursday, October 31 from 6-8PM.  Dave and Anna Lee will be hosting the Spooktacular event, hot dogs and chips, on the Sawmill Meadows cul de sac during trick or treat.  Please drive with caution while the children are out collecting their candy and please turn on all porch and driveway lights, so they know who  is participating .

Thank you to all homeowners that have paid their 20.00 dues .  These funds are greatly appreciated and will be put to good use.  We have over 60 homes that have paid, almost a record for paid dues, so Thanks!!!!  These dues pay for beautification on the front entrance sign, social committee events, and the private snow plow driver we hire for our neighborhood.  We also deliver a welcome gift to new homeowners in Sawmill Forest, with a magnet, Kroger gift card, a candle, and info .   If anyone would like to chair the Sunshine or block watch committee , please contact me!  We would love for you to join us!

Happy Halloween!
