Feb. Meeting Info

Hi Neighbors!  I would like to thank all paid members of the civic association for helping to pave the way for the snow plow driver!  Your dues paid for the driver to plow all of our streets in a timely manner! The winners for the Christmas decor contest were Terrie Termeer of Spirowood Classic category, The Prices of Blackjack  Ct., Unique category and The Mueller family on Sawmill Forest Original category..  Each family received a gift card to Krogers! Congratulations to all the winners and a great turnout for our visit with Santa. Thanks to our great social committee for a fine job. Next social will be the Annual Easter Egg Hunt, scheduled for Mid March.  Details to be posted up front and on our web site. The Walmart is making progress as well.  You may have noticed the demolition taking place in Olde Sawmill Square Shopping Center.  They hope to be open in 2014.  The traffic light committee is working with many committees within our city limits and I will keep all neighbors posted of information regarding this critical need for a traffic light.  The board has also voted to provide refrigerator magnets to every household in Sawmill Forest.  They will help us all decide when to place our green large trash cans, and our blue recycle cans to the curb.  We are NAVY…645-NAVY if you need further up to date info regarding pick up.  We hope to have the magnets distributed in March.  Thank you to James Covey and Anna Lee for chairing this committee.  Also on another note, the board voted to trash the Christmas decorations around the street poles as the neighborhood dogs claimed them as well while on their walk during the holiday.  Evidence pointed to the removal and trashed following a vote.  We will need to purchase wreaths for the street poles in the fall.  Also … a neighbor has requested that all DOG OWNERS please pick up your DOG WASTE ASAP.  The children getting on the school bus to Olde Sawmill Elementary has been delayed on several occasions due to walking to the bus stop and stepping in the dog waste.  Please carry an extra bag per request from several neighborhood moms.  We will have our next meeting Tuesday, April 2 at 7 pm. at the home of Doug and Dana Smith . All are welcome to attend , voice your concerns or help  with the social committee with plans for the Annual Block Party  scheduled for June.  Happy Spring!
